Sponge platinum, is grey, spongy and pure metal on which there
isn’t any inclusion that can be seen. Its density is 21.4g/cc,
melting point is 1773℃. The wear ability, malleability and
plasticity of platinum are so well as that of gold, its electric
conductivity is the best. Aqueous solutions of alkali and acid are
inoperative to platinum, only aqua regia can dissolve platinum.
Platinum can be corroded by molten alkali and cyanide.
Use:
Platinum is used for making resistance elements, relay contacts,
electric thermocouples, printed circuits, wares for physical and
chemical analysis and crucibles.
Transportation & Use:
In the course of transportation, attentions must be paid to prevent
damp, pollution and collision or break of the pack bottles. In the
course of using, attentions must be paid to prevent pollution, to
prevent contact with aqua regia, molten alkali and oxidant. The
molten platinum can’t be contacted with carbon.
